Droit - L1 : Droit : European Institutional Law

The course provides an overview of the institutional construction of the 'two Europes' - the Council of Europe and the European Union. The organisation and operation of the institutions are examined in the light of the major principles of European law (subsidiarity, primacy, direct effect, etc.), its values (democracy, fundamental rights, etc.) and current events and major crises in Europe (Brexit, war, migration, etc.). The course includes practical case studies and oral presentations.
